Story by George & Connie Balogh

Conway, AR

A while back, our friends and family surprised us with a 40th wedding anniversary party. They came to Little Rock from several states to celebrate with us. We had a wonderful time.

One of the surprises was the gift of the handmade quilt pictured here. Each contributor made a square, which was then added into the quilt. The squares represent some aspect of their connection to us.

Our brothers and sisters, their children, our children, and our grandchildren contributed. So did former girl scouts and family friends. Pre-schoolers, teens, adults , and seniors, young and old put their mark on the quilt, as they did on us.

The quilt hangs in our bedroom and we look at it every day, recalling many pleasant memories of the thoughtful people in our lives.
