Story by Susan Robbins

Little Rock, AR

My mother learned candy making on a marble slab in the early 1960’s while we were living in Oregon.

It has always been the favorite Christmas candy of our family and the many she gifted with it because of how thin she could stretch the brittle and how delicious it is. She made peanut brittle and fudge using the same method every Christmas until her death in 2020.

I have her marble slab and continue to make candy in the same way. It makes me feel close to her.
