Story by Kaleah Murry

Little Rock, AR

In the summer of 2023, I was 14 and at a track meet. I block everything around me out so I can just focus on the race. While I was running, I do believe that God was with me because I could have collapsed from pain.

That day I ran a 13.23 and placed third overall, running as a 14-year-old with 17-18-year-olds. I will never forget this day or the medal I got for this race because I didn’t think I was going to be able to run, especially since my knee was swollen and we didn’t know why yet.

Receiving this medal was one of the best days in my life because it made me know that I am stronger than I think.
